I read Fun House Chronicles by Myers and was pleased to see the story of those characters continue in Bear in Mind (although BiM stands alone just fine). Bear Jacobs, a retired P.I.,takes on a dangerous case that brings this geriatric group in touch with the local mob as well as the local law. The tone of the book darkens as the horror of the outcome moves from theory to reality. Bear, his eWatson Lily, and the other residents of the adult home have to make tough decisions about justice and their own responsibility in endangering lives of others. This is a very different seniors-as-sleuths type book. It is written with a light tone but with a real sense of urgency for the wounded oldsters who put aside their own woes to tackle a world of depravity. A difficult subject, great characters, a surprising plot are all reasons I give Bear in Mind 5 stars.Product details

I don't buy very many b, there are so many good free ones, but am very glad I bought tone. Have really enjoyed the adventures of Bear and all his gang, especially Lil's case notes.
So fun, so good. Loved every word! Linda B. Myers has hit it out of the ballpark. All the makings of a great book--fabulous characters, a page turning story and fluid prose!
Not finished reading it yet...almost.....and liked it well enough to get the next one in the series. One gets fond of the characters.
Especially if you are a senior. Easy and light and pretty funny as well. I very definitely. Recommend this one
An interesting cozy mystery where seniors figure out what is happening to missing seniors. Bear's friends get involved and even though they have physical disabilities they are clever and are able to put the prices together and see what the missing persons have in common and take steps to solve it.
As an 85 year old avid mystery reader, I especially enjoyed Ms. Myers giving us old timers credit or having brains, guts and stick to it stuff to make good things happen to good people ... and some bad things happen to those who deserved it. Right on for us old timers!
An interesting mystery with a new twist. A group home of adults of varying disabilities and abilities gets involved with a missing wife of one of the residents. As Bear and Lily investigate they discover other seniors missing. Healthy seniors living on their own just up and vanish. With information about unusual noises in a crematorium from a young embalmed, Bear checks out the mortuary Will works at. He finds 2 bodies in a box in front of the furnace with their insides missing. Right then he is discovered and needs to escape with Lily at the wheel of the golf cart.
